Romanian LFC Supporter walks for the 96

I received the following from the 23 Foundation.

Emil Neacșu

Dear all, we are working with Emil (details below) who is walking from Sheffield to Liverpool from the 10th of April to the 15th of April 2013 in aid of the Hillsborough victims. Emil has come all the way from Romania to do this which is a fantastic gesture from a Liverpool fan of 44 years. Please can you help us to spread the word so that we can raise as much as possible in aid of the 96.

Hello, my name is Emanuel (Emil for friends) Neacșu and I am a Liverpool fan. I am 44 years old and I discovered the most beautiful football team in 1976.

I the recent years, thanks to internet and facebook, I discovered that I can be part of the big family called Liverpool. I am an official fan and I contribute as much as I can to the club. But I think also at the tragedy that occurred in April 1989. I found out days later about the Hillsborough disaster – I was living in communist Romania and the access to international news was limited. Year after year I kept in mind the tragedy and I met people who spoke about that. I discovered that 3 of the victims were my age, 21. In 2011 I managed to organise a church prayer at the Anglican Church in Bucharest in the memory of the 96, with the help of some friends.

Last year I did a 96 km walk in Romania, also for the victims of Hillsborough. This year I will come in Liverpool for WHU match and after that I will try to make a 96 miles walk between Sheffield and Liverpool. On 15th of April I will be back on Anfield for the Hillsborough victims ceremony.

I am working with the 23 Foundation charity and hope that you can sponsor me, or simply make a donation to the charity in aid of the Hillsborough victims. To donate, please contact mike@jamiecarragher.org
