Is Notts County game something to worry about?

On Tuesday 27th of August Liverpool battled it out in a full 120 minute game (with added time of course) against a not at full strangth side of Nottingham County. Of course by now you’d know that Liverpool had won that encounter 4-2 and that Daniel Sturridge came out Man Of The Match, but it wasn’t all as easy as it sounded on paper, pre-game.

First Half, Liverpool were easily the dominating team of the two. Although in the very early stages of the game a disappointed Aly Cissokho was in a bad tackle and was forced off, being replaced by Daniel Agger. Also in the list of worrying injuries are the names of Joe Allen and one Kolo Touré. Brendan Rodgers was quoted as saying that “Kolo injury doesn’t look good” which is a worrying thing to hear as he was a monster in our defensive line up against Stoke and Villa.

But a list of Brendan Rodgers Things to worry about didn’t stop there. At second half Liverpool possibly got a bit too comfortable and sat back. Even when our mass amount of Attempts went by we did not take them some blew wide, some blew off the bar or post. Then Notts County pulled one back and Liverpool started playing under pressure. eventually in the 81st minute Notts equalised and LFC had a tough 9 minutes ahead of them as all momentum had gone to Notts. Gone to extra time and Liverpool seemed to be broken down, Gerrard was misplacing passes and the biggest blow of all Kolo Touré’s injury. But Thanks to a fine strike from Daniel Sturridge scrapes past the Notts Keeper And an excellent solo performance from Hendo in the second period of extra time helped seal our win.

These injuries are a big red light and Brendan Rodgers needs to get in CB’s asap for situations like this also a new needed winger as Downing is gone to West Ham and Assiadi to Stoke City. as for preparations for the big LFC vs Manchester game next sunday Rodgers needs to train the team to not just lay back and to fight for more goals because the 1-0 leads aren’t always something Liverpool can hang onto. The possibility of Victor Moses is a good sign showing Rodgers understands the lack of goals without Suarez even though Daniel Sturridge should be massively praised for what he’d done this season thus far.

So far though things this season have gone exceedingly well for all of LFC. A 100% record is a record only two teams have left and we are one of them. Things are going well under Rodgers, Let’s hope that continues into the near future.
