Sunday 29th September, 2pm KO. Halton Stadium, Widnes.

This Sunday Liverpool Ladies have their final game of the 2013 season. It is due to be a winner takes all affair, our opponents Bristol Academy sit just 2 points behind us in the table.
A lot of money has been invested in Liverpool’s Ladies team over the past two transfer windows, however the success on the field this season has been largely unprecedented. At the beginning of the campaign manager Matt Beard targeted a Top 4 finish for the new-look side, so to be going into the final game only 1 point away from being crowned Champions caps a fantastic season for the reds.
Bristol Academy are a well supported club and are bringing their supporters to the game via coach, if this seasons FA Cup Final is anything to go by the support will be very vocal!
Liverpool have enjoyed a good crowd on a number of occasions this season; both derby’s attracted gates of over 1,000 while 2,000 reds watched our FA Cup Semi Final at Anfield. The atmosphere at these games is no doubt boosted by a large crowd and it would be brilliant to get a big number in for this game to get behind the girls.
Both teams will have an array of talent on display, boasting the two best attacks in the league. Liverpool’s attacking four of Natasha Dowie, Nicole Rolser, Amanda Da Costa and Louise Fors have scored an impressive 41 goals between them this season. Dowie is also the leagues leading scorer and in 20 appearances for Liverpool has netted 19 times, including a hat-trick last week against Everton.
Liverpool’s midfield is completed by Fara Williams and Icelandic international Katrin Omarsdottir. The back line comprises of Champions League winner Corina Schroder and the outstanding Lucy Bronze, who has enjoyed a fine season at right back. In the heart of our defence is Captain  Gemma Bonner, who leads by example from the back alongside USA’s Whitney Engen. Rachael Laws will probably be the goalkeeper of choice, on loan from Sunderland Laws produced a superb 90 minutes against Doncaster Belles a couple of weeks ago to keep Liverpool in the game.
Summer signings Kate Longhurst and Sarah Gregorius have started the last couple of games on the bench but both are capable of making instant impact upon introduction and are an important part of the squad.
Those who hold season tickets for Anfield are admitted to all Ladies home games free of charge, alternatively adult tickets are just £5, concessions £2.50 and children get in free with a paying adult.
