‘No Thoughts Of Arsenal’ insists Toure

Kolo Toure insists that having thrashed and obliterated league rivals Arsenal on Saturday, all players are focused on tonight’s game and that win is behind them.

The 5-1 humiliation of Arsenal on Saturday will long live in the memory of kopites, however our experienced centre half is adamant that all players know that they have to put in a performance like that today or that victory over Arsenal wont mean much. He told liverpoolfc.com: “We just take it game by game. What we did against Arsenal is finished now – the next game is the most important for us and we will focus on that. As a team we are going to work hard and try to get the three points.” Its good to see that the players aren’t getting carried away over the victory and are focused on the rest of our Premier League campaign.

The Ivorian then went on to add: “We just need to keep the focus because this is another really challenging game and they are fighting to avoid relegation right now. I watched their game against Manchester United on Sunday. They were strong, they work as a team, but for us we just need to focus on ourselves. We need to have the same effort [as against Arsenal], we need to work as a team and I think the manager will sort that out. He knows what we need to do and he knows what he needs to say as well. These games are hard and we know that. We will fight, it’s going to be a really hard game but we like hard games and we will work really hard.”

If we manage to beat Fulham today and other results go for us, at the end of the day, we could be one point off of Man City, two points off Arsenal and 4 points off of leaders Chelsea. Could we be back in the title race? This game is just as important as the Arsenal one, if we loose or draw, we are out of title race and spurs will be right back on our tails. If we win, we will be back in the title race and further away from top four competition Everton, spurs and possibly top four contenders, Man Utd.
