Liverpool Echo rates summer signings out of 10, scoring Dejan Lovren miserably

Spanish left-back earns highest rating from the Echo…

The Liverpool Echo has rated Liverpool’s summer signings out of ten based on their performances so far.

Unsurprisingly, they’ve been pretty harsh on Lazar Markovic and Dejan Lovren…

Mario Balotelli – 5/10

The Italian has done well to even get a five, having so far failed to score a single Premier League goal for the Reds.

Dejan Lovren – 4/10

The Croatian cost £20m, but has unfortunately been at fault for far too many goals so far. It’s fair to say that he can only get better.

Adam Lallana – 6/10

The 26-year-old has done pretty well, but for £26m, we’d expect him to. Lallana’s best moment came in the home victory over West Brom, scoring a beautifully taken opener.

Alberto Moreno – 7/10

The highest rated of all the summer signings is the young Spanish left-back, who’s been excellent going forward, if a little suspect defensively on occasion.

Emre Can – 6/10

Can’s slowly improving, and at this best – provides the side with a physical presence and boundless energy. He has the talent to develop into a seriously impressive box-to-box midfielder.

Rickie Lambert – 5/10

Lambert has really struggled for form since making his dream move in the summer, and the pressure of playing for the club he supports has sat heavily on his shoulders. Fans will continue to support him, however.

Lazar Markovic – 4/10

The Serbian flyer has so far struggled to show his undeniable talent. Brendan Rodgers has recently taken him out of the firing line as a result.

Javier Manquillo – 6/10

Manquillo is given a decent rating because he didn’t cost anything, and has covered for the occasionally injured Glen Johnson well enough for him not to be considered a liability.
