Lucas is tired of the lack of playing time at Anfield…

Lucas Leiva’s agent Henrique Coelho reckons his client would be happy to move to Napoli in January to reunite with Rafa Benitez, reports the Mirror.

The Brazilian has been at Liverpool since 2007, and despite winning our Player of the Season award in 2010/11, he’s only made three Premier League appearances this term.

As a result, rumours have began to circulate that the 27-year-old will be allowed to move back to Serie A as early as this winter.

“Is it possible that Lucas could leave Liverpool in January? Yes, naturally,” claimed Coelho.

“Lucas likes Rafael Benitez a lot. After all, the two know each other well from when the Spaniard was coaching Liverpool.”

Fans will not be entirely disheartened to see Lucas leave, with the midfielder struggling to have much of an impact this term.

However, due to his combativeness and work-rate, there’s an argument to say we perhaps could have done with his defensive influence in the side in countless matches this season.
