Liverpool possible lineup v Ludogorets: Alberto Moreno & Jordan Henderson could be recalled

Brendan Rodgers has vice-captain back, but Italian forward remains out…

GK) Simon Mignolet

With Brad Jones the only other option right now in goal, Mignolet is practically a guaranteed starter providing he’s fit.

DR) Glen Johnson

Javier Manquillo was poor at the weekend, meaning Johnson could revert to his more natural right-back position, allowing Alberto Moreno to return to the starting XI.

DC) Martin Skrtel

The Slovakian always starts when fit, and despite fairly ropey recent form – he’ll do so again versus the Bulgarian champions.

DC) Kolo Toure

Rumours are rife that that Ivorian will replace the woefully out of form Dejan Lovren at the back. Most Reds fans will be pleased if the change has been made, unfortunately for the £20m Croat.

DMC) Lucas

The Brazilian anchorman could return to the starting XI to allow Gerrard a role further forward.

MC) Jordan Henderson

Henderson has travelled with the squad, and should be given a start given that we need to win remain with a chance of qualification. If Henderson isn’t fit, Lucas could play – having done well against Real Madrid when selected in our last Champions League fixture.

MC) Steven Gerrard

The captain needs to significantly up his level, it has to be said. He has the ability to pull the strings from deep, but it’s expected that he’ll play in a freer role with Henderson, relying on Lucas to provide the team a platform from midfield.

AMR) Raheem Sterling

Sterling’s been quiet recently, but we have to remember he’s still a teenager. When on form, he’s one of our most devastating players, meaning he should get the nod to start from the right – although he’d probably be more effective centrally.

AML) Adam Lallana

Lallana’s almost certain to take this spot on the left, because Lazar Markovic is totally out of form, and Coutinho has failed to impress when deployed on that wing this season.

FC) Rickie Lambert

Lambert should retain his spot up top as a long striker, with Mario Balotelli still crocked. Fabio Borini will likely start from the bench.
