Mario Balotelli’s Liverpool future looks increasingly uncertain…

Mario Balotelli’s Liverpool future looks increasingly uncertain, after reports emerged of Reds manager Brendan Rodgers being forced to criticise his Italian striker for several incidents of unacceptable behaviour.

Reports in the Daily Mirror have revealed that Rodgers was forced to tell Balotelli to get himself to bed just hours before a Champions League game against Basel in Switzerland, which Liverpool lost 1-0.

It seems that the hotel incident is just one of a string of episodes that have left Balotelli’s days at Liverpool numbered – with the star finally driving Kop boss Rodgers close to complete distraction.

Events behind the scenes have seemingly caused Rodgers to realise that the signing of £16m Balotelli from AC Milan was a huge mistake, and one that is undermining his own position.

Balotelli has scored just twice since his summer switch, and is yet to find the net in the Premier League. The misfit forward has been a huge flop at Anfield, as the Reds have struggled to cope with the loss of last season’s top scorer Luis Suarez.

His off-field antics have impacted most on Rodgers’ view of the off-beat star once branded “unmanageable” by Chelsea chief Jose Mourinho, and it now looks inevitable that his agent will force through a move back to Italy in either January, or next summer.
