22-year-old heavily linked to Reds…

Moreno Roggi, the agent of Italian international keeper Mattia Perin, claims that he has been talking to Liverpool regarding a potential transfer from Genoa, the Mirror reports.

Rumours are continuing to surface that we’ll enter the transfer market to replace Belgian stopper Simon Mignolet, and Perin has been one of the names most heavily linked in recent weeks.

“There has been contact with Liverpool,” Roggi told Rai Sport.

“For Perin I can only imagine a future abroad. I would like him to remain in Italy, but only clubs from abroad can afford him.

“England? It’s a possibility.”

Perin is a remarkably talented stopper, and his form in Serie A has earned him a spot in the Italian international squad.

He prides himself on his shot-stopping and his command of the area, but the young keeper has occasionally been criticised for his ability to deal with crosses.

Simon Mignolet has struggled badly this season, and fans would likely be excited about the potential £12m arrival of Perin…

Others though would prefer the club to target a more experienced stopper to help shore up our leaky defence.
