Tabloid dubiously claims PSG & Inter Milan will battle for Mario Balotelli in January

European giants apparently interested in Italian forward…

Despite the fact that Roberto Mancini had a training ground bust-up with Mario Balotelli during their time at Manchester City, the Star on Sunday reckons he’ll fight with PSG for the striker’s signature in January…

The report claims that both teams are interested in Balotelli’s signature, and want to do business with us should we accept an £8m transfer fee.

Having spent £16m on the Italian maverick in the summer, an £8m offer is something we’re very unlikely to accept – even if Balotelli has so far struggled on Merseyside.

PSG use one spearhead striker (usually Zlatan Ibrahimovic), and the brilliant Edison Cavani can’t even get into the side in his natural position – meaning they really don’t need Balotelli.

Inter could do with the striker more, especially if Mauro Icardi leaves, as is being increasingly mooted. Balotelli made his name with the Serie A giants, and actually has a strong relationship with Mancini despite their occasional fallings out.

We very much doubt Liverpool will give up on him so soon, however…
