Dutchman wants to replace Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool boss, claims his brother

Frank de Boer would quit Ajax for Liverpool, reckons Ronald…

Ajax manager Frank de Boer would definitely be interested in the Liverpool job should it become available, his legendary footballing brother Ronald de Boer claims…

Both de Boer brothers are iconic figures in Dutch football, winning over 170 caps between them, and representing the likes of Ajax, Barcelona and Rangers during their illustrious playing days.

Frank de Boer currently manages Ajax, and many reports claimed we approached him to take the helm at Anfield before appointing Rodgers, but he spurned our advances.

“It’s a nice club,” said Ronald de Boer.

“If Liverpool come now he [Frank] would certainly think about it. He would certainly not close the door immediately, like he did two years ago.”

As a manager, Frank de Boer has won four consecutive Eredivisie titles, although he’s facing a serious task to make it five on the bounce with PSV currently ahead of them this term.

De Boer has mainly struggled to get Ajax performing well in Europe, and as a result, some believe he’s achieved all he can with the Amsterdam giants.

It’s not uncommon for de Boer to publicly declare interest in other jobs however, having previously claimed he wanted to take over at Tottenham.

He’s clearly a talented manager, but there’d be a long queue of coaches desperate to take over at Anfield should the position become available.
