We can assume that Lineker is referring to Mario Balotelli as the ‘non-scoring striker’, who has of course yet to bag a Premier League goal.
Torres has bagged once in Serie A, but failed to notch since September, and been very shoddy in his ten total appearances.
While many fans wouldn’t want Torres back because of the fact he signed for Chelsea in 2011, it’s the fact that he’s actually no longer an elite footballer that should fill us with much more concern.
