Liverpool’s predicted XI v Burnley – Brad Jones to keep spot in goal

Will the Reds stick with the same XI…?

This is the side we think Brendan Rodgers will start against relegation battlers Burnley this Boxing Day…

Using the 3-4-3 formation, it’s the exact team which started the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last Sunday and the exact same side bar Dejan Lovren that started the League Cup victory over Bournemouth beforehand.

Simon Mignolet has been dropped indefinitely, meaning we think Brad Jones could continue at the back for now.

Instead of Lovren, Mamadou Sakho will start on the left of the back three, with the Frenchman having been very solid since returning from injury.

Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure are certainties to start alongside him at the back, while due to Joe Allen being unavailable, Lucas should continue next to Steven Gerrard in the centre.

Alberto Moreno is knocking at the door for a start at left wing-back, but we reckon Lazar Markovic will keep his spot, as Jordan Henderson is likely to on the right, as well.

Up top, Mario Balotelli is available, but with Rodgers claiming the striker doesn’t suit our style, he’ll likely be used from bench – with Coutinho and Adam Lallana continuing to play just off Raheem Sterling up top.
