Owners happy with results at Anfield currently

There are positive signs with currents games.

The Liverpool owners say they are happy with current results despite the fact Brendan Rodgers has come under serious scrutiny in recent times.

When we were 11th in the Premier League and out of the Champions League there was a distinct chance that Rodgers would be sacked.

However, successive victories have lifted us to eighth and just four points off the top four and things are looking more positive at Anfield.

“We are pleased to see a number of positive signs as new players start to settle,” chairman Tom Werner was quoted by BBC Sport.

It has certainly been a transition period with Luis Suarez leaving for FC Barcelona and new signings such as Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren have failed to make the desired impact.

Werner and John Henry are clearly appreciative that selling a player with the talent of Suarez was always going to be difficult though.

“As you would expect, losing a footballer as capable as Luis Suarez and making a number of new signings, our season has gotten off to a slower start than we would have wanted,” they said.

A new 3-4-3 formation under Rodgers appears to be working now and although the title ambitions of last season are not likely, Champions League football looks achievable once again.
