Mario Balotelli’s agent wants Liverpool to send striker back on loan to Italy

Will Balotelli move back to Serie A?

Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, as well as the Daily Star, reckon that Mario Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola is in the process of persuading Liverpool to send his client out on loan this January…

The forward’s troubles on Merseyside have been well-documented, and he’s failed to score a single Premier League goal since his £16m summer move from AC Milan.

Having suffered a hamstring injury in November, Balotelli’s not been able to get himself back in the side, and perhaps tellingly, Brendan Rodgers didn’t even select him for the bench for the New Year’s Day clash with Leicester…

With our current lack of forward options though, sending Balotelli out on loan would arguably do more harm than good.

With Daniel Sturridge still unavailable, we’d have only Rickie Lambert as a genuine centre-forward option – which for a club with top four ambitions, is nowhere near good enough…

Our next fixture is against AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup however, and if isn’t selected – it would be tricky to see the Italian as having a future at Anfield.
