Adam Lallana faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a knock…

Adam Lallana has been ruled out for a month with what is suspected to be a thigh injury, according to reports made by ITV.

Lallana has recently become a firm fixture in the Reds first team and has formed part of an impressive front three alongside Philippe Coutinho and fellow countryman Raheem Sterling.

Yet the England international was forced off after 55 minutes during the New Year’s Day Premier League clash with Leicester City with what manager Brendan Rodgers described at the time as a ‘tweak in his thigh.’

Unfortunately for Lallana it seems worse than that though and the 26-year-old will now be absent for a number of crucial matches for his team.

As well as missing the FA Cup Third Round clash with AFC Wimbledon, the midfield ace will also be absent for both legs of the Capital One Cup semi-final with Chelsea and league matches with Sunderland, Aston Villa and possibly West Ham United.

Lallana made the move to Anfield over the summer in a £25m switch from Southampton and after a shaky start the Englishman has now asserted himself in Rodgers’ team, with 21 appearances and four goals in all competitions.
