Brendan Rodgers encouraged by Liverpool’s top four chances after latest win

Mario Balotelli went his 12th Premier League match for Liverpool without scoring against the Black Cats on Saturday lunchtime, but it wasn’t his performance that left him most annoyed after the game…

“This is the f*****g coldest city I’ve ever f*****g played in,” the Italian is reported to have sniped after the match, following his 23 minute cameo!

The 24-year-old didn’t do too badly when he came on, but embarrassingly slipped when he was virtually through on goal, much to the delight of the home support.

Balotelli hasn’t started a match since early November due to a hamstring injury and the fact that Brendan Rodgers clearly doesn’t trust him to play for the team…

Even with Daniel Sturridge injured and Raheem Sterling on an extended holiday, Rodgers still selected Fabio Borini to lead the line against Sunderland – which is damning evidence that Balotelli is not in our long-term plans.
