….Walk on through the storm….. Walk on through the rain, though you dreams be tossed and blown, walk on…….

These are the famous lines from the world’s greatest football anthem ‘ You’ll Never Walk Alone ‘ which is also known as the ‘ Liverpool Anthem’. This song explains how passionate a Kopite should be and that every Kopite must hold their head up through bad times. They must have faith in their hearts and never stop believing that despite all the odds there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Liverpool supporters have enjoyed success in numerous occasions, through different time periods. The famous ‘Reds Reign’ throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s made Liverpool the team that every other team dreams of becoming. Winning trophies was Liverpool FC’s everyday activity. Liverpool FC has a glorious history; they have won every title in English football and in European football that is there to win bar the Premier League title which they are unable to win since 1991 which is the year when the Premier League era started.

It was then and we must face the ‘now’. For every Liverpool supporters, Liverpool lifting their maiden Premier League title is just a big dream; they still believe that one day soon Liverpool FC will make it happen. Dreaming and believing never stops. Last season, Liverpool FC made eventual winners Manchester City fight till the last seconds of the competition. Even though Liverpool narrowly missed out on the Premier League title, Kopites started believing that days are not far when Liverpool FC will have their mark on the PL title.

Talking about the season after, Liverpool FC currently are a hit and miss team; more of a miss and just a handful of hits. Liverpool supporters have given up the hopes of Liverpool’s title charge and situation doesn’t favor Liverpool even for a top four finish. As for now it looks very tough with Arsenal likely to be Liverpool’s competitor to battle it out for the fourth spot.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was the most talked about manager last season. He even out shadowed league winning manager Manual Pellegrini and was voted as the ‘ Best manager ‘ in all of the English division. His tactics and game plans were widely praised, his substitutions were spot on and whatever he was doing, he was doing it right. Some Liverpool supporters even made comparisons of him being as good as the legendary Bill Shankly.  Yes ,Liverpool currently are on a good run but the same Brendan Rodgers now is under the microscope for all the wrong reasons.

I will now come to my final point and conclude this article. There is no way that Liverpool FC will lift the PL title this season but there is still a chance of lifting a cup as Liverpool are set to play Chelsea in the Semi-Finals of the League cup , try their luck in the FA cup and the Europa League. So for me in terms of a PL title, this is another season wasted because I believe ‘twenty five’ years is a very long time not to win one for the least. The ‘ Rain ‘ continues to pour and Liverpool supporters are desperately waiting for a ‘golden sky’, keeping the faith and having ‘ hope ‘ in their hearts.
