Liverpool fans on Twitter are not especially happy at the Danny Ings news…

Click through the list below to find out where Brendan Rodgers ranks. Think he should be higher? Comment and tell us why below:

24) John Carver (Newcastle United, caretaker)

Yet to win a game since taking over from Alan Pardew. Despite his unenviable record, he now has the job until the end of the season.

23) Harry Redknapp (Queens Park Rangers)

His side are still awaiting their first away point of the Premier League season. Thankfully for Redknapp, results at Loftus Road have been slightly better.

22) Nigel Pearson (Leicester City)

After a bright start, both Pearson and Leicester have struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League. They currently sit bottom of the table.

21) Neil Warnock (Crystal Palace, sacked)

Was brought in at the start of the season after Tony Pulis walked out on the job. Has a couple of memorable results, but left with the team struggling.

20) Steve Bruce (Hull City)

Despite spending big in the summer transfer window, the Tigers have struggled this season and find themselves in the midst of a relegation scrap.

19) Alan Irvine (West Bromwich Albion, sacked)

Always looked a strange appointment considering his lack of managerial experience at the top level, and it was proved to be just that as he was sacked and replaced by Tony Pulis.

18) Paul Lambert (Aston Villa)

His side have managed just 11 Premier League goals this season, and find themselves in a precarious position. While Lambert has done the best with what’s available to him, there are still fingers being pointed.

17) Keith Millen (Crystal Palace)

Millen has been thrown in at the deep end twice this season, but still managed to keep the club moving in the right direction. Almost got a point against Arsenal on the opening day of the season.

16) Brendan Rodgers (Liverpool)

Has struggled to re-create the form that saw us flying up the table last season, but has led a steady revival in recent months. When Daniel Sturridge returns we could see the Red men back to somewhere near its best.

15) Gus Poyet (Sunderland)

His team have become known as the Premier League’s draw specialists. Like Villa, they lack goals, but a draw with Chelsea and yet another win over local rivals Newcastle prove what they are capable of.

14) Roberto Martinez (Everton)

It’s been a difficult season for Martinez, despite enjoying plenty of success in Europe. Everton have struggled to cope with playing both domestically and on the continent.

13) Louis van Gaal (Manchester United)

The Dutchman has led United back into the Premier League’s top four, but there have certainly been a few bumps along the way – most notably the loss to MK Dons in the League Cup and the draw with Cambridge in the FA Cup.

12) Rob Kelly (West Bromwich Albion, caretaker)

Not many Premier League managers can boast an unbeaten record, but Kelly can after securing a 1-1 draw against West Ham in his only game in charge.

11) Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City)

City started their title defence slowly, but a positive run of results elevated them back into contention; while also seeing them progress in Europe. They’re still not as consistent as the Chilean would like however, and need to improve if they are to have any hope of retaining their title.

10) Tony Pulis (Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion)

Has already shown signs of turning West Brom around since taking charge. Pulis can boast an unbeaten record since taking over at the Hawthorns, and is well on track for Premier League safety.

9) Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham Hotspur)

The revival at White Hart Lane has been steady if not spectacular. There are plenty of reasons for positivity in North London, including their upcoming Wembley date with Chelsea in the League Cup.

8) Arsene Wenger (Arsenal)

Alexis Sanchez’s brilliance could not completely cover up Arsenal’s difficult start to the season. The results are starting to come for them again however, and they look favourites to retain the FA Cup.

7) Garry Monk (Swansea City)

The fledgling manager has been excellent since taking the reigns at Swansea, and for the most part has continued that fine form this season. The loss of Wilfried Bony is likely to hit them hard though, and it will be interesting to see how they cope.

6) Alan Pardew (Newcastle United, Crystal Palace)

After a difficult start to the season, Pardew defied his critics to lead Newcastle back up the table. His reputation has only been enhanced since his move to Palace, where he currently has a 100% record.

5) Sean Dyche (Burnley)

Has done a fantastic job in difficult circumstances, keeping Burnley within touching distance of Premier League safety on limited funds, while also maintaining the team spirit and togetherness.

4) Jose Mourinho (Chelsea)

The 4-2 loss to Bradford City in the FA Cup was the only significant blow to an otherwise perfect start to the season. They’re top of the league, in the League Cup final, and through to the last 16 in Europe.

3) Sam Allardyce (West Ham United)

Has taken the Hammers to within touching distance of a spot in Europe, as well as the latter stages of the FA Cup. Considering the pressure he was under at the start of the season, a great effort from the West Ham boss.

2) Mark Hughes (Stoke City)

Hughes has inspired several wonderful results, including wins over Manchester City and Arsenal. He has continued to steadily change Stoke’s style, moulding the team in his own image.

1) Ronald Koeman (Southampton)

Southampton were among the favourites for relegation at the start of the season, but Koeman has defied the odds to lead them to third place in the Premier League. Who needs all your best players…
