Six Liverpool stars who took time to come good – Following Mario Balotelli’s 1st PL Goal

10) Jordon Ibe (Liverpool, 19)

The teenager returned from his loan spell with Championship promotion-chasers Derby County to force his way into the Liverpool first-team, impressing against both Everton and Tottenham in the last week. We have very, very high hopes!

9) Luke Shaw (Manchester United, 19)

The full-back makes the list on the back of his £30m price-tag rather than his Manchester United performances, but impressed enough during his time with Southampton to keep his place in this list – and is an England international to boot.

8) Lazar Markovic (Liverpool, 20)

Markovic has started to prove his undoubted ability in recent weeks, and vital goals against Sunderland and Tottenham in 2015 have propelled us into top four contention. Let’s hope he keeps up the good work – as once his end product matches his pace and dribbling – he’ll be special.

7) Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion, 21)

Berahino has already scored 15 goals in all competitions this season, with his form likely to be enough to keep West Brom in the Premier League. There have been question marks over his attitude, but he has a lot of quality – and was part of the last England squad.

6) Romelu Lukaku (Everton, 21)

It already feels like the former Chelsea striker has been around forever, with this his third season in a row reaching double figures in goals for an English team. Everton paid £28m for him last summer, but are still waiting for that price tag to be fully justified.

5) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal, 21)

Another star who seems to have been around for a long time. The England international has made 37 appearances for club and country so far this season, but has only managed to score three times. Talented, but we wanted swap him for Ibe!

4) Emre Can (Liverpool, 21)

The German has been an inspired selection as part of Liverpool’s defensive three, after Brendan Rodgers elected to change to a 3-4-3 formation in December. The Reds are unbeaten in the league since his inclusion in the side – and he looks set for a run of games in central midfield following Steven Gerrard’s injury. What a summer signing!

3) Ross Barkley (Everton, 21)

Barkley worked his way into England’s World Cup squad after his impressive performances throughout last season. He’s struggled to reproduce that same level this term, but has still done well at times.

2) Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur, 21)

The Spurs striker has scored 23 goals in all competitions so far this season, including a brace against local rivals Arsenal and a goal against Liverpool in the last week. An England call beckons for the towering forward.

1) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool, 20)

Only Steven Gerrard has scored more goals that Sterling for Liverpool so far this season. The 20-year-old has been made into a makeshift centre forward for much of the campaign, netting nine times in all competitions. Sterling recently won the Golden Boy award given to Europe’s best youngster, and in reality – nobody really comes close to Sterling in terms of Premier League potential right now… The world is his oyster. Let’s hope he fulfils it at Anfield.
