Raheem Sterling will miss Liverpool’s FA Cup tie v Crystal Palace

Attacker’s injury will keep him out for a further game…

Raheem Sterling will not face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup today, after failing to overcome the foot injury he picked up during the Merseyside Derby draw with Everton, reports the Echo.

The 20-year-old sat out the victory over Spurs, but was expected to be ready for the trip to Selhurst Park today.

Sterling’s not been deemed fit enough however, but could be ready for Thursday’s Europa League tie with Besiktas at Anfield.

This season, the England international’s been one of our most prominent attacking forces, scoring nine goals in all competitions – often used in an unnatural false-9 role.

In his absence this afternoon, Lazar Markovic or Adam Lallana are likely to play in the right sided attacking midfield position – although both could be deployed if Coutinho is given a rest.
