GK) Simon Mignolet – 7/10

Another clean-sheet for the Belgian, who bar one shaky moment due to a Lovren back-pass, was solid. He even made a few Manuel Neuer-esque sprinting clearances, too!

DRC) Emre Can – 8/10

Brendan Rodgers described the German as world-class after the match, and the praise was warranted. Can carried the ball out of defence, drove through midfield, and made up ground like a sprinter to cover for himself after foraging runs. Top class. He’s played in every minute of our last 18 games.

DC) Martin Skrtel – 7/10

The quiet, no-nonsense leader of this defence, Skrtel was typically solid, and had the potentially troublesome Danny Ings in his pocket.

DLC) Dejan Lovren – 7/10

Solid, again. Most think Lovren’s only holding the left centre-back position until Mamadou Sakho comes back, but when he’s doing such a decent job, it’s going to be hard to drop him.

MR) Raheem Sterling – 8/10 (Lambert – 90′)

Played at both wing-back positions, up front, and looked very, very dangerous on the right wing especially – a position previously described as ‘wasted’ on Sterling’s talents.

ML) Alberto Moreno – 7/10 (Toure – 73′)

Crisp left-footed passes, and Duracell-bunny work-rate from our likeable Spaniard. A key member of the side, now.

MC) Joe Allen – 8/10

Allen’s long been mooted as a midfield metronome, but only in recent weeks has he truly started to show it. Pass, pass, pass, pass. It killed Burnley, this evening – and shows exactly why Brendan Rodgers rates him so highly.

MC) Jordan Henderson – 9/10

Stunning goal, stunning assist, captain’s performance. What more needs to be said? Henderson’s relishing his captain’s role in the centre, and he’s growing as a midfielder and a leader week in, week out. Bravo.

AMRC) Adam Lallana – 7/10

What a first-touch this chap has. Not as influential as he was versus Manchester City, but Lallana played his part in an exceptional attacking midfield Liverpool performance.

AMLC) Coutinho – 8/10

He’s purring right now. He really, really is… The Brazilian was inches from scoring a carbon-copy of his wonderful Manchester City goal, but it went just wide. Elsewhere, he constantly found pockets of space, and none of the Burnley midfielders could get near him.

FC) Daniel Sturridge – 7/10 (Johnson – 83′)

Bagged another goal since his return from injury, and left to a standing ovation from the appreciative Anfield crowd late on. He’ll only continue to get better.
