GK) Simon Mignolet

Let’s the hope the Belgian can maintain his excellent form, up against a potential teammate next season – Danny Ings.

DRC) Emre Can

Can’s ability to link the defence and midfield proves why he’s being used at the back right now rather in the midfield. His passing and drive from the right of the back-three helps us begin attacks.

DC) Martin Skrtel

The lynchpin of our defence, Skrtel will continue to lead the defensive unit at the heart of the back-three. He deserves far more credit for his recent performances than he’s received.

DLC) Dejan Lovren

Mamadou Sakho is fit and training, but Brendan Rodgers is usually loathe to drop defensive players unless they’ve had real shockers. Lovren hasn’t, and could continue against Burnley. (Even if we’d prefer the Frenchman to come back in…)

MR) Lazar Markovic

With Jordon Ibe out for a month, the Serbian summer signing is a practical certainty to start on the right wing.

ML) Alberto Moreno

Very consistent recently, Moreno will be looking to get in behind Kieran Tripper, while making sure to keep tabs on the sometimes impressive George Boyd down Burnley’s right.

MC) Joe Allen

One of Saturday’s best performers, Allen should have an easier job tonight than he did against the imperious Yaya Toure – but if he does even half as good a job – we’ll be delighted.

MC) Jordan Henderson

Henderson will continue to skipper the side in Steven Gerard’s absence. He’s yet to lose a match this term when wearing the armband.

AMRC) Adam Lallana

The Englishman was superb at the weekend, and deserves to keep his spot in the side as a result. For some Reds, the jury is still out on the £26m man, but more performances like his outing versus City and they’ll come round.

AMLC) Coutinho

Arguably the in-form player in the country right now, fans will be on the edge of their seats every time our Brazilian magician gets on the ball in the final third. Burnley could well deploy a holding midfielder to directly combat him.

FC) Daniel Sturridge

With Raheem Sterling playing 120 minutes versus the Turks, and 90 versus Man. City, he could be given a rest ahead of the weekend, with Sturridge a more than capable replacement.
