The Uruguayan has almost categorically maintained his popularity, coming off the back of scoring 82 goals in just 133 games, including 31 last season to inspire us to a second place finish in the Premier League.

Now it seems that the 28-year-old is set to rise even higher in our estimations, as he strives to attend the Anfield charity game later this month, which is also widely regarded as Steven Gerrard’s farewell match.

Suarez has pulled out of his country’s friendly against Morocco – which he was due to feature in – so that he can journey to Merseyside instead!

Former Liverpool stars Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Dirk Kuyt and Pepe Reina plus the likes of Thierry Henry, John Terry and Didier Drogba are also down to feature in the game, with the two team’s captained by Gerrard and fellow Reds legend Jamie Carragher.
