The Reds academy is packed with terrific teenage talent, who could no doubt benefit from a shot at first-team football. Brendan Rodgers has used the loan market well thus far, and will surely be looking to exploit it again.

Here are five youngsters that could make the grade, and where they could go to impress:

Harry Wilson

Already a full Welsh international, despite being just 17-years-old, Wilson shot to prominence recently after scoring a wonderful solo goal against Chelsea in a youth game.

A winger with a wonderful left foot, the Echo has linked him with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion. The Championship side still have plenty to play for, as they battle relegation, while a switch would see him link up with another Reds youngster – Joao Carlos Teixeira.

Sergi Canos

The 18-year-old wide-man joined Liverpool from Barcelona in 2013. He’s renowned as a hard-working player who likes to get up and down the touchline in a similar style to Alberto Moreno.

Middlesbrough have been tipped as the team to get the best out of him, as they continue their Championship promotion push. Their Spanish manager, Aitor Karanka, has used the loan market well this season – most notably bring in Patrick Bamford, who has starred so far this term.

Tom Brewitt

The centre-back recently signed his first professional contract at the club. The Under-18s captain has become accustomed to playing in a back three this year, featuring in both the middle and on the right.

Despite some encouraging performances, he’s not quite ready for the Championship. He would do well in League One however, and could help a local club such as Crewe battle against relegation.

Pedro Chirivella

Another young Spaniard, who has been described by some as the ‘next Xabi Alonso’. Still just 17, he’s proved to be excellent on the ball thus far, but needs to be tested at a higher level.

He needs to move to a passing team capable of good ball retention. Surprisingly, Fulham is the Echo’s suggestion, based on the fact that they like to keep it on the floor and enjoy a decent playing surface.

Jack Dunn

The versatile forward scored three goals when on loan to Cheltenham earlier in the season, and looked a class above the League Two strugglers. He now needs to be tested at a higher level, with Coventry City the tip.

City have recently appointed the experienced Tony Mowbray as their new boss, someone with all the capabilities to bring on a young player and help him thrive.
