Liverpool reject Roy Hodgson takes another pathetic swipe at the Reds

Does anyone really care? Roy Hodgson needs to stop with his terrible insults…

He might have lasted just six months at Anfield, but Roy Hodgson cannot stop talking about Liverpool. And now, speaking just hours ahead of our crucial game with Manchester United, he’s chosen to take another swipe at his former employers.

According to the Daily Mirror, the England manager has lashed out at our in-house TV station, claiming the channel would unfairly describe certain former Liverpool players as ‘legends’.

This all emerged during Hodgson’s most recent Three Lions press conference, when he was asked whether skipper Wayne Rooney would be worthy of ‘legendary status’ if and when he surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton’s 49 goal all-time scoring record.

He responded: “When I was at Liverpool I was constantly surrounded by people who were
described by Liverpool TV as legends, some of whom I can barely
 remember.

“So
I think the word legend is a dangerous one, you don’t have to do
too much these days. But I would think Wayne is already a legend.”

This is the latest in a long-line of incidents between Hodgson and Liverpool, who have been embroiled in a row already this season, after Brendan Rodgers accused the former Reds boss of contributing towards Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems.

Back in 2013, he also had something of a ‘hissy fit’ after being denied entrance to our director’s box, when he was instead offered a place in the overflow area usually used by scouts.

We also failed to provide him with a director’s lounge ticket for half-time, during which he sat on his own in reception before leaving early. It seems he still hasn’t forgiven us…
