It’s time once again for every Liverpool fans least favourite time of the season – the international break – which decrees that we must wait an entire fortnight before avenging our defeat against Manchester United.

With Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge having both pulled out, and with doubts over Raheem Sterling for the clash with Italy – who is suffering with a toe injury – there’s not even much Liverpool interest in England’s international fixtures.

So, with that in mind, now seems like the perfect opportunity to look back on the season that’s been and gone so far. In the list below we rank our five favourite moments from the current campaign…

5) Tottenham Hotspur 0-3 Liverpool (August 2014)

The Reds came up with the perfect response to their defeat against Manchester City, as we crushed Spurs at White Hart Lane. Raheem Sterling opened the scoring after just eight minutes, before Steven Gerrard and Alberto Moreno scored within 15 minutes of the re-start to polish off an impressive victory.

4) Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal (December 2014)

The Reds were in desperate need of points after a 3-0 humbling at Manchester United left us well adrift of the top four. Philippe Coutinho opened the scoring, but Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud turned things around. After Fabio Borini was sent off, we looked doomed to defeat. That was until Martin Skrtel popped up in the 97th minute!

3) Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur (February 2015)

Another great Liverpool performance against Tottenham, who must be sick of the sight of us after the last couple of seasons. Lazar Markovic and Steven Gerrard both saw their goals cancelled out, and it was left to Mario Balotelli to be the surprise match-winner, with the Italian stabbing home from close range to secure three points.

2) Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool (February 2015)

Liverpool booked their place in the last eight of the FA Cup and finally ended their Selhurst Park hoodoo in one fell swoop. Daniel Sturridge equalised after the Reds fell behind to Frazier Campbell’s opener – leading to these brilliant scenes with Alberto Moreno – before Adam Lallana grabbed what proved to be the winner.

1) Liverpool 2-1 Manchester City (March 2015)

Our impressive unbeaten run continued in style at Anfield, as we overcame the defending Premier League champions with a brilliant all-round performance. Jordan Henderson’s stunning opening goal was cancelled out by Edin Dzeko, only for another goal of the season contender from Philippe Coutinho to clinch the victory.
