There have been a number of names linked with a move to Anfield over recent months, including the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and even Karim Benzema – but such speculation seems hopeful to say the least!

In the list below we count down five realistic possible transfer targets, that we would be wise to scout between now and the end of the season! Let us know who takes your fancy…

5) Bas Dost (Wolfsburg)

Few had heard of the Dutch striker prior to the start of this season, but the 25-year-old has been in impressive form for high-flying Wolfsburg, scoring 16 goals in all competitions. With the Bundesliga side reportedly eyeing up a move for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, the one-time Netherlands international could become available.

4) Anthony Martial (AS Monaco)

Still only a teenager, and very much in the Divock Origi kind of mould, this 19-year-old Frenchman has made a bright start to life with AS Monaco, whom he joined from Lyon in 2013. He’s netted five times in all competitions for the first-team this season, while he’s continued to impress for France’s Under-21 side.

3) Son Heung-Min (Bayer Leverkusen)

A lethal two-footed forward who comes with the added bonus of versatility. The 22-year-old South Korean international has proved himself capable of playing anywhere across the front-line, including on the left flank – a position where the Reds have generally struggled in recent seasons. He’s scored 16 goals so far this season.

2) Paco Alcacer (Valencia)

A promising young Spaniard who’s scored three goals in five games to get his international career off to a superb start. He was a prolific scorer for Valencia’s second team in his youth, and is now doing the business for the first-team as well, with his ten goals this term helping fire his side into Champions League contention.

1) Paulo Dybala (Palermo)

One of the bright lights in Serie A this season, and a player that doesn’t come with quite as intimidating a price tag as Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi. Like Icardi, Dybala is of Argentinian descent, and at just 21 has already began to attract interest from a number of major clubs. He’s scored 12 times in all competitions so far this season.
