Stefano Castagna has attempted to step up his pursuit of landing his client a bumper new deal, by linking him with a whole host of European giants – including the Reds, whose initial interest had appeared to have faded.

As the Daily Star confirms, we began tracking the player prior to the January transfer window, as first choice keeper Simon Mignolet struggled with his form, and second choice Brad Jones was sidelined by injury.

However, Mignolet has been much improved since the turn of the year, inspiring our surge up the Premier League table, while Jones returned to action during last weekend’s Anfield charity match.

Neto, 25, is out of contract at the end of the season and will be available on a free transfer. He’s been a regular for his Italian employers so far this season, but Castanga looks to be getting a touch optimistic with his client touting.

He said: “There are several clubs interested, even abroad such as Liverpool in England, then PSG in France and Real Madrid in Spain.

“We have not yet made a decision on the future, there is time and we are still evaluating peacefully.”
