Will Raheem Sterling eventually commit to Liverpool during the summer?

Raheem Sterling has hit-back at reports claiming that he will leave Liverpool this summer, as the 20-year-old’s ongoing contract saga rumbles on.

He told reporters: “I don’t want to be perceived as a money-grabbing 20-year-old. I just want to be seen as the kid that loves to play football.”

As the Daily Express reports, the Reds have so far failed in their attempts to hold down the impressive young starlet, with the forward having rejected an offer in the region of £100,000-per-week.

He currently has just over two years remaining on his current deal, which the Express state sees him earning£30,000-per-week, and has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in recent weeks.

The Express state that Sterling wants parity with teammate Daniel Sturridge, who’s on around 150k, but Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers appears reluctant to go higher than what he’s already described as a “wonderful” deal.

Talks have been put on hold until the end of the season, at which point we can expect a number of sides to begin circling – with the Express naming Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid as key contenders.
