Liverpool fans and neutrals alike react to the clash…
Kolo Toure, Simon Mignolet, Lazar Markovic, Alberto Moreno and Emre Can were the biggest trending topics this afternoon, as Liverpool were soundly beaten at the Emirates Stadium, a result which leaves us well adrift of the top four.

Liverpool transfer news
It was a difficult afternoon for many of our top stars, particularly Toure, who looked rusty after three months without a Premier League start.
Youngsters Markovic and Moreno both struggled as well. The former was left to think about what might have been, had he found Raheem Sterling with his instead stray pass, when the England man would surely have opened the scoring. Meanwhile the latter was exposed time and again on the left-hand side on another error-stricken outing.
Can put in a respectable performance but will likely regret his needless tackle late on, which earned him a second yellow-card and his marching orders. He’ll now miss the game against Blackburn Rovers next week.
Here’s what Twitter had to say!
Kolo Toure
@TheCat247 Kolo Toure was embarrassing today. Spend 20 million on Lovren and Toure plays instead. #joke
— Barry Williams (@barrydap) April 4, 2015
Kolo Toure has been the worst defender in Premier League for 3 years straight, I don’t get why he’s signed let alone start for Liverpool
— Ricardo (@SucioRich) April 4, 2015
Still got infinite love for Kolo Toure, despite him acquiring the touch of a bear and turning circle of a whale. #Invincible
— Squid Boy (@TheSquidBoyLike) April 4, 2015
You can never hate on Kolo Toure.

Simon Mignolet
My MOTM for #LFC would be Mignolet, it would have been 6-1 at least if it wasn’t for him!
— Omar El-Menoufy (@omar_elmenoufy) April 4, 2015
Mignolet can not be at fault for the goals in #ARSvLIV Made some good saves and his mistakes were minimal. Did more good than bad.
— FootballFactory (@FootbalFactory) April 4, 2015
Why can’t people just admit Ozil hit a stellar free kick? Putting it on Mignolet is ridiculous.
— Jordan Beck (@JordanBeck_6) April 4, 2015
@johnsy76 so disappointing today san if it wasn’t for Mignolet it could’ve been 7 need to get it right on Wednesday. I fear for Rodgers now
— colin burns (@BurnsCoco) April 4, 2015
Lazar Markovic
Markovic’s decision then pass indicative of a player whose confidence is through the floor
— Ed Malyon (@eaamalyon) April 4, 2015
Markovic was afraid of taking the shot, and that fear was evident in the atrocious, panicked execution of pass.
— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) April 4, 2015
Rodgers also says Markovic can shoot or pass in that position, but must do what he chooses better
— Andrew McKenna (@talksportMacca) April 4, 2015
Shoddy defending and yet again unable to cope with high press! Mark my words though, Markovic will be a star next season #PakistanLFC
— Aqib Elahi Mehboob (@aelahim) April 4, 2015
Alberto Moreno
Alberto Moreno is a fantastic talent. Does he need coaching? Obvz, he’s not even 23 yet. He’s also playing a new role the past 3 months.
— Ryan (@RyanMcTrippy) April 4, 2015
Moreno’s replaced his brain with a head full of Jose Enrique’s ping-pong balls.
— Ben D’Arcy (@ben_darcy) April 4, 2015
If Moreno didn’t have pace, he would be working a 9-5.
— Liverpool GFN (@LiverpoolGFN) April 4, 2015
Hate when defenders put their arms behind their backs. You can’t move! Moreno so worried about the handball he gets skinned.
— Shaka Hislop (@ShakaHislop) April 4, 2015
Emre Can
#afc fans waving their red season tickets at the dismissed Emre Can (two yellows)
— Henry Winter (@henrywinter) April 4, 2015
Emre Can sent off for a second yellow card. What a miserable afternoon for Liverpool.
— Julien Laurens (@LaurensJulien) April 4, 2015
Now Emre Can makes absolutely certain it’s that kind of day with his second yellow. #LFC down to ten men. Again.
— Jim Boardman (@JimBoardman) April 4, 2015
Brendan Rodgers has suggested Emre can slipped when taking out Danny welbeck..and the Liverpool fans bought it #YSB
