The Italian currently plies his trade in League One for London side Leyton Orient and, along with a 31-year-old woman believed to be his girlfriend, was arrested at the Knightsbridge store on Monday afternoon, according to the Daily Mirror.

Dossena, who perhaps is best known for a goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League, was later bailed along with the woman.

“Police arrested a 33-year-old male and a 31-year-old woman on April 7 on suspicion of shoplifting at Harrods,” said a police spokesperson.

“They were taken to a west London police station.

“Both the man and woman have been bailed to a date in late April, pending further enquiries.”

Dossena signed for the club in 2008 and as well as the aforementioned Madrid strike, scored the final goal in a 4-1 thrashing of Manchester United at Old Trafford with an audacious chip over Edwin van der Sar.

The Italians left the club for Napoli in 2010 and has since played for Palermo and Sunderland before he joined the lower league Orient last November.

Leyton Orient have yet to comment on the incident but are expected to do so later today.
