The Reds and Benteke come face-to-face at Wembley next weekend, after Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park booked us the final spot in the semi-final line-up.

After struggling for form for much of the season, 24-year-old Belgian international Benteke now appears to have rediscovered the qualities that once made him a high-profile transfer target for Liverpool (via Goal.com).

He’s scored eight goals in his last seven games for club and country, including a hat-trick in Tuesday’s 3-3 draw with fellow relegation battlers Queens Park Rangers.

Liverpool will have suspended duo Martin Skrtel and Emre Can back by the time they face Villa, although Mamadou Sakho will miss the game through injury.

Despite the boost of having two of our key players back, 80s star Molby has warned us against underestimating such a formidable player.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “Liverpool have a great opportunity to reach the FA Cup final but it won’t be straightforward against Aston Villa.

“They are enjoying the best spell they’ve had all season. There’s been a real upturn since Tim Sherwood went in there.

“He has managed to put some life back into Christian Benteke, who scored a hat-trick against QPR this week.

“Liverpool know from bitter experience what he’s capable of. The big frontman has hurt Liverpool before and that has to be a worry.”
