We are, after all, a club steeped in a rich history, one that we can still rely on to win people over. For Harry Redknapp it’s little different, with the former Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham boss admitting his desires in a recent interview on the Claire Balding show.
Redknapp spoke passionately about his impression of Anfield and in particular the club’s fans.
“I’d have liked to have managed Liverpool. It’s a fantastic atmosphere,” he said.
“When that crowd sings You’ll Never Walk Alone, the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.
“It’s an incredible place and it’s a great football club.”
The 68-year-old left Rangers mid-way through this season, where he was replaced by Chris Ramsey. He’d previously guided the club to promotion from the Championship after replacing Mark Hughes in 2012.
He’s also well known for his time for Portsmouth, where he won the FA Cup, Southampton, West Ham United and Bournemouth, where he spend almost a decade in the 1980s.
