According to our official website, stairs and the metal decking that will hold the Main Stand’s new floor have been installed and all of the main foundation work has been completed.

As you can see in the picture above, the new structure has almost reached its full height. This will eventually become part of an upper tier for the existing Main Stand, with a roof also set to be added.

The procedure, which began in January of this year, will add an additional 8,500 seats to this end of the ground, taking the stand’s overall capacity to around the 20,000 mark. Anfield itself will then be able to host close to 54,000 supporters.

Work is still expected to be completed during the 2016-17 season, with our Main Stand set to become one of the largest all-seater stands in European football.

You can watch the full ‘timelapse’ video for the work done so far via the official website.
