Nearing the half-hour mark, the midfielder found himself in acres of space after tucking the ball through the legs of the Toffees’ Ryan Ledson, yet he was still some 30 yards from goal. However, the defenders failed to close the 19-year-old down, and he accepted the opportunity on offer. He got the ball out of his feet, before curling a lovely effort into the bottom corner with the inside of his foot.

Kent has only recently returned to the side, with his appearance against Fulham earlier in the month being his first in three months due to a back problem. It was also his second goal in his last three games, having scored in the victory against Tottenham.

The goal came three minutes after Harry Charsley had opened the scoring for the home side, with a volley from close-range.
