Despite never playing a minute of first-team football, Brannagan is rated highly by Brendan Rodgers, who has included the 18-year-old midfielder in his match-day squad on five occasions so far this season.

His most recent appearance for Rodgers came at the start of last month when he was on the bench for our defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Now however, he’s back with the youth team, as they look to close the two point gap on leaders Manchester United – with both teams having just two games remaining.

The young Reds came from behind against Leicester, winning 2-1, with Daniel Cleary also on the scoresheet. It’s the third win in succession for Liverpool, following impressive performances against both Tottenham and Everton.
