This one really has come from nowhere, with reports of the player’s imminent move only emerging late on Wednesday evening. L’Equipe claim that the 22-year-old has already flown to England and will be in talks at our training base this week.

Those reports have since been confirmed by The Metro – ideal for those of you that don’t speak French – with the source claiming that the player is keen on signing up as soon as possible.

Ntep currently plays for Rennes, for whom he has scored 14 goals in 42 games since joining them last year. He’s also netted nine times in 15 appearances for the French Under-21s. The Metro also believe that he’s been scouted thoroughly by Arsenal over recent months.

The Cameroon-born star, who started his professional career with Auxerre, could be the next piece of the puzzle in a new-look strike-force for Brendan Rodgers and co, alongside both Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi.

This is the latest sign that Rodgers is stepping up his transfer business ahead of the summer break, with 17-year-old midfielder Paulinho having reportedly agreed a move yesterday (via The Metro).

You can see just what Ntep is capable of in the clip below…
