The 25-year-old is out of the contract at the end of the season and has been backed by the Daily Express to provide competition for our first choice stopper, Simon Mignolet, next season, with current back-up Brad Jones expected to leave (via The Metro).

According to the Express, we have ‘reaffirmed our interest’ after the Brazilian ruled out a move to Juventus, who have also expressed an interest in the player. However, we might want to have second thoughts of our own after his latest in a catalogue of errors.

Surely we can do better!
