The game against Crystal Palace will not be the 34-year-old’s final appearance, as we have a match at Stoke the week after. However, with the season now just about going through the motions – the match against Alan Pardew’s men is realistically a chance to thank our captain for everything he’s done one final time at Anfield.

According to The Independent, some season ticket holders – well aware of the value of their seats at the game – have offered fans unable to get a ticket the chance to buy theirs. Some ticketing companies are listing seats at around £2,500.

Because the club rate this clash as a Category C game, tickets would normally sell for between £37-49.
