The game against Crystal Palace has little significance when it comes to league position, but will allow Merseyside to thank our legendary captain for one final time, ahead of his summer departure to LA Galaxy.

The Daily Mirror report that Adidas have marked the occasion by designing a special pair of predator boots for today’s game. The boots will have his children’s names on them, as well as YNWA underneath his initials in reference to our famous anthem that seems so apt this weekend.

Despite today’s clash not necessarily being the last of Gerrard’s Liverpool career, with a game against Stoke next weekend, the fact that it will be the last time he leads the side out at Anfield, has led to the footballing world to pay tribute to the 34-year-old.

And he has responded on Instagram by posting a picture of the boots, and explained that this game will be one that will live long in the memory.
