The Brazilian scooped both the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards, proving just how crucial he has been for us this season. He was also awarded the Goal of the Year award for his stunning strike against Southampton, as well as the Performance of the Year award for our win over Manchester City.

Raheem Sterling won the Young Player of the Year award, something which didn’t go down all that well with the thousands of fans present, as BBC Sport explains. The youngster was booed as he made his way up on to the stage, with reports suggesting that he wants to leave the club this summer.

Joao Carlos Teixeira was voted the Academy Players’ Player of the Year, having impressed on loan with Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion. The Portuguese unfortunately picked up an injury last month and we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Ron Yeats and Ian St John, who were both members of our inaugural FA Cup winning side back in 1965, were given Lifetime Achievement awards.
