The Daily Mail has reminded the footballing world that Queens Park Rangers are entitled to a 25% sell-on fee, should Liverpool decide to sell Raheem Sterling during the summer transfer window.

So with Sterling’s agent, Aidy Ward, talking up suggestions of a £50m transfer, any potential sale could cost us as much as £12.5m. Although the clause will apparently be reduced to 20% should we sell to an English club – such as leading suitors Manchester City – it appears as if we’re going to have to pay a heavy price for any deal.
The Mail believe City are currently preparing a £40m bid so, if that were to be successful, QPR would be owed £8m.
This untimely reminder serves as our latest setback in the Sterling saga. As BBC Sport reported earlier this week, the youngster is set to tell the club that he wants to leave this summer, when he meets with our representatives on Friday.
He has already rejected a new £100,000-per-week contract offer and is ready to force an exit, despite our owners being prepared to play hard-ball over any potential sale.
On Tuesday evening, the BBC confirmed that Sterling was booed by a section of Liverpool supporters during the club’s end of season awards, in which the 20-year-old won our Young Player of the Year award.
