According to the report, a judge made an official ruling on Friday regarding the amount of maintenance the Liverpool manager will be required to pay.
Details of this have since been released by Vardags, the law firm representing Mrs Rodgers, although the exact value of the payments have not been confirmed.
A spokeswoman for the firm said the relationship had broken down. The Rodgers’ had been together for more than 20 years and had been married for more than a decade.
Lawyer Catherine Thomas said: “Susan is saddened that after a relationship spanning 24 years she had to go to court to secure sufficient maintenance from her husband.”
Brendan Rodgers did not comment.
As well as being incredibly sad news, Rodgers’ apparent family problems are an unwelcome sideshow to what promises to be an already difficult summer. The Northern Irishman is no doubt going to be racking his brains to come up with a solution to this season’s underwhelming performances.
