Our current coach, Brendan Rodgers, is believed to be under intense pressure after a difficult season on Merseyside, which ended in spectacular fashion at Stoke last weekend, with our hosts running out 6-1 winners.

The Daily Mail has confirmed that Rodgers’ position is not under immediate threat, but that has not prevented sources such as Bild from talking up the likes of Klopp, who has of course enjoyed a wonderfully successful period in Germany – winning the Bundesliga twice and reaching the Champions League final.

Only last week, the Daily Mirror revealed that the odds on Klopp to be the next Liverpool manager had fallen from 5/1 to 2/1 with SkyBet. And now, Bild claim that the 47-year-old is ready to back-track on his original plans for a year-long sabbatical and take the job.

Ancelotti is in a similar position after leaving the Spanish capital, with the Italian weighing up the pros and cons of immediately returning to management (via talkSPORT). Unfortunately for any Liverpool fans hoping the former AC Milan, Chelsea and PSG coach could be on his way, journalist Fabrizio Romano has since moved to squad those rumours.
