Vietto, who has been dubbed the ‘new Sergio Aguero’ according to reports in the Daily Express, has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season – including 12 in La Liga.

The 21-year-old Argentine youth team international only joined Villarreal last summer but has proved to be a big hit in Spain and is already attracting attention from across Europe. The Express claim that Arsenal are also among his list of suitors, with the Gunners having been made aware of the fee which will trigger a move.

Vietto’s agent, Jorge Cyterszpiler, who was quoted by the Express on Wednesday, admitted that a move could definitely happen during the summer months, despite the player being happy at Estadio El Madrigal.

“We know that a lot of big clubs are watching Luciano Vietto,” the representative said. “There is a lot of competition for him. I think he could leave Villarreal in the summer.”

If reports of his buyout clause are to be believed then we’d be foolish not to further investigate the possibility of getting a deal done. We all know that we need reinforcements up front this summer and Vietto could be an exciting and affordable addition to our squad.
