Liverpool end interest in Neto; Brendan Rodgers still wants a new keeper

Liverpool will continue their pursuit of a new goalkeeper this summer. However, the man coming in won’t be Fiorentina’s Norberto Neto, who we no longer consider a viable candidate – reports the Liverpool Echo.

The 25-year-old was earmarked as a potential signing several months ago (via the Daily Mirror), but despite the Brazilian now being available on a free transfer – with his contract about to expire – we aren’t interested.

According to the Echo, Neto is instead expected to join Juventus, where he will play second fiddle to Gianluigi Buffon. In turn, we will look elsewhere for an understudy to our number one, Simon Mignolet.

Brad Jones is already on the way out, with his contract also coming to an end, leaving youngsters Danny Ward and Lawrence Vigouroux as the only recognised cover for the Belgian international.

Bolton Wanderers’ Adam Bogdan has also been linked with a move to Anfield, but the Echo believe that the flame-haired Hungarian is not currently on our hit-list.

Who would you want to see coming in guys?
