Mixed Twitter reactions as Liverpool look set to complete two new signings

We could be set to make our first two signings of the summer in the coming weeks, with James Milner (via the BBC) and Danny Ings (via the Evening Standard) both likely to be announced soon.

Twitter has erupted with mixed reactions from fans – with some thrilled to see business underway, while others seem somewhat underwhelmed.

As the reports suggest, both players are free to open negotiations with other clubs – with their contracts with Manchester City and Burnley respectively coming to an end this summer.

Both men are capable of adding something to the side, and with minimal expenditure required to bring them to the club, they could prove astute signings.

Ings will give us another option up front, with our strikers struggling this season – whether it be through injury or a lack of quality. He is young, English, and performed superbly with recently relegated Burnley this season.

Milner is a player of proven quality, and is a regular with England. The experienced Manchester City man is a tireless worker, and what he lacks in ability, he makes up for with his work-rate.
