The Argentinian, who has already played in the Premier League for West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City, is out of contract at the end of next season and Juventus would reportedly prefer to sell him now rather than lose him in a free when his deal expires.

And according to AS, he could go for only €10m – which equates to just £7.2m.

The question is now – would we be interested?

The source confirms that Atletico Madrid are the favourites to sign Tevez, with the 31-year-old reportedly keen on adding La Liga to his list of conquests. However, the Reds could yet take advantage of rumours such as this – from The Telegraph – and convince him to have one last crack at the Premier League.

Despite his ageing years, Tevez has been a prolific goalscorer since his move to Turin, and for that sort of price he might be worth a risk. He’s scored 50 goals in 94 games since his move to Italy, with 29 of those coming this season.

We clearly need a striker, having struggled for goals all season long, and his experience of playing at the top level might make him a more appealing option than Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke, who could cost more than four times what Tevez would – according to reports in The Independent.
