Liverpool transfer news
As the Liverpool Echo reports, first-team coach Marsh has been told that his contract – which expires this month – will not be renewed, while assistant manager Pascoe departs despite having a year remaining on his deal.
The latter has been with Rodgers throughout his entire coaching career, having followed him to Anfield from Swansea City. Marsh was promoted to a first-team role back in 2012 and the pair were almost considered part of the furniture on Merseyside.
According to the Echo, FSG have already set about finding suitable replacements, with experience thought to be a requirement. Many supporters have expressed their sadness at the pair’s departures, while others have already taken to speculating about their possible replacements – with former greats Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia among those mentioned.
Here’s how the news broke on social media on Friday:
Mike Marsh sacked,easy touch,easy option,scapegoat????

Interesting that FSG have ripped up Rodgers' coaching team, yet left the transfer committee intact.

Please bring Hyypia in Rodgers #hyypia #pascoe

Pascoe gone. Pretty clear Rodgers will be next if season is repeated. Not a particularly secure position.

Many expressed thoughts Rodgers is an excellent coach let down by a lack of backroom experience. 2015-16 may prove a fine experiment. #lfc

Are FSG trying to show Rodgers up this season? Or are they just showing faith in him? Can't figure it out
— Tom Fairclough (@Tom_fairclough9) June 5, 2015
= I want experience. Simple as that really. Sami isn't completely "unqualified", but I'd definitely prefer more experience.
